As a patient of Richard Storm, M.D. Ophthalmology, you can expect our full attention to your personal eye health needs.
On arrival for your appointment, you will be courteously greeted, and your address, contact information and insurance coverage will be updated (if necessary).
Once in the examination room, your medical history will be reviewed. Please bring a list of current medications with you.
Depending on the examination findings, additional testing may be needed. A dilated examination of the retina is performed on all new patients and, as indicated, on return visits. It is important to have a driver with you if you undergo dilated examination. Visual fields, optic nerve and retinal imaging, and glaucoma evaluation are performed as needed. You may expect the examination and additional testing to take anywhere from 30 – 75 minutes. You should feel confident in your understanding of the examination and test results before you leave the exam room. If not, please ask for more clarification.
Our office strives to see all our patients with minimal wait time. Emergencies and unexpectedly complicated routine examinations may create delays. We try to minimize these delays as much as is possible. Rest assured that if you have an emergency or a complicated condition, you will be given our full attention at that time. We appreciate your understanding.
